Profile bio

About Brian Coffey

I am the leader of the organizational communications function, a role I recently stepped into after leading our change management and IT quality assurance teams since 2019. I am a former transformation consultant focused on creating business value by empowering people to do their best work through sound repeatable processes, clear communications, and intuitive efficiency-generating technology. I am passionate about embedding learning into work, advocating for the customer and user experience, advancing diversity and inclusion efforts, and fostering a corporate culture that values and supports employee mental health; I will use any position of leadership/influence to promote these concepts and values. My greatest professional satisfaction comes from seeing the value and impact of my work on a daily basis; from being a good manager and mentor to my team and colleagues; and above all, from constant learning to find efficiencies, create value, and transform ways of working and delivering service. My greatest professional fear is becoming too comfortable, complacent, or not being challenged to grow or learn on a regular basis. During my time at Deloitte, in addition to my client work, I led Deloitte's Greater Washington Area Corporate/Social Responsibility and Volunteerism Efforts, liaising with internal (partners and client leaders) and external (nonprofit partners) stakeholders. In this role I co-managed 3 work-streams with 20+ practitioners.Occasionally, I will share articles or pieces on LinkedIn that I either found interesting or informative, or that I want to return to in the future. I am open to any and all inquiries -- feel free to say "Hi!" to share ideas, articles or notes you liked, or just to (re)connect!

Listed skills include Spanish, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and 15 others.

As a senior consultant at EY, Brian traveled across the country to embed directly with clients to solve their most complex challenges. During this time, Brian continued to develop deep expertise in change management, communications, and IT training. Brian specifically led the change management and training initiatives for a large investor-owned utility that was pursuing a total IT transformation of their human capital management (HCM) and time and attendance systems. Brian participated in every part of the transformation, from the requirements gathering sessions to the post go-live support. Specifically, Brian designed and authored change management vehicles, training content and materials, and delivered over 30 live and virtual training sessions to clients at every level of the organization and across almost every different business unit. Brian's other major client during this time was a global multi-billion dollar agricultural and life sciences giant that was preparing to launch a market re-defining new offering to its thousands of domestic customers. EY was responsible for owning every internal and external-facing aspect of this market offering, from developing the offering, to designing and implementing the CRM systems, to marketing and delivering the products to customers. Brian's role was to collect the relevant information from across the different participating business units and to develop the communications and training materials for the Customer Success organization that would be tasked with being the front-line of receiving and processing customer inquiries. This required a detailed knowledge and understanding of every aspect of the customer experience, and of the market offering itself.
