https://bit.ly/BrunoCortes-RGhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/7378003222522265Bruno Cortes received Bachelor's (2014), Master's (2017), and Ph.D. (2021) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora and a Technical Certificate in Electrotechnical & Industrial Automation from the Federal Center of Technical Education of Minas Gerais in 2007.From 2012 to 2013, he worked on the FAPEMIG project “Operational Planning of Hydrothermal Systems in the Presence of Wind Power Generation”. Following, from 2013 to 2014, he concentrated his efforts on the Petrobras Human Development Program for the Oil & Gas Industry, taking part in some training and courses regarding Industrial Electrical Systems. During this opportunity, his developed research evaluated and analyzed the harmonic effects on induction motors.In 2016, he was employed by Petrobras, attending the electrical maintenance specialist training program and acting as third-tier (T3) maintenance support for offshore facilities. In early 2017, he finished his Master's dissertation on modeling and analysis of an electrical submersible pump system. Then, he attended his MBA in Financial Management: Accounting and Auditing at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation from 2017 to 2019, presenting a Strategic and Financial Planning for the Implementation of Distance Learning Courses in a Higher Education Institution as his monograph.Lastly, he received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora in early 2021. On this occasion, he put his efforts into visionary topics (i) developing and evaluating reduction methods for direct applications in Distribution Systems, (ii) especially presenting contributions to the study of Voltage Stability Limit and Multiple Solutions on the Unbalanced Power Flow problem, and (iii) establishing a suitable methodology for real-time assessment of the Consumers' Responsibility to the existing Unbalance on the grid, applying it on the DSTATCOM's controllers to avoid a possible Financial Charge.Currently, he is a PostDoc Fellow at UNICAMP with the research group of Professors Walmir Freitas, Fernanda Trindade, and Madson Almeida, working in the CPTEn/FAPESP, where he continues to develop studies, simulations, and mathematical models for the Management and Integration of Emerging Grid-Edge Technologies into electrical energy systems, acting mainly in the following areas: (i) Voltage Security and Power Quality Studies; (ii) Impacts and Control of Grid-Edge Technologies; (iii) Power Electronics Applications and Control; (iv) Data Analytics.
