Hi, I’m Breanna. Avid reader, travel seeker, finder extraordinaire of thrift store furniture, and architecture student. I tend to think of myself as a left brain creative, balancing accuracy and practicality with creativity and passion. My previous education reflects this; I first studied at The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, completing a diploma in Interior Design Technology. There I learned practical skills and the importance of precision. Knowing how to translate the ideas from my head onto paper helped me as I continued my education at the University of Manitoba. As I completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design, I learned to think more abstractly and started exploring bigger design questions. Through recurring themes in my projects I recognized my passion for community and public design.I believe that design can and should be engaging and equitable, and built environments ought to allow users of all abilities to access and experience them in a meaningful way. During my time as a graduate student I hope to expand my knowledge in this area and as a professional, it is my aim to create architecture that is purposeful, conscientious, and above all enjoyable.
