Boise, Idaho Area

Associate Engineer responsible for water resource projects focused in municipal, industrial, and irrigation water supply. Examples of projects include:- Idaho Water Resource Board - Prepare projections of future water demand in Ada County, Canyon County, and the Mountain Home Plateau portion of Elmore County; includes analysis of existing water-use data, potential climate variability, and conservation measures.- Pumping tests and evaluation of irrigation water supply wells for Plantation Country Club, Meridian Idaho LDS Temple, and Idaho Homeowners Associations.- Project Engineer for the development of the City of McCall's water system master plan update. The update focused on system optimization, development of a new hydraulic model, and a distribution main prioritization matrix. An analysis of the storage and distribution system capacity was performed for each pressure zone to identify deficiencies and determine where future infrastructure was needed. Model results were used to rate improvements needed for the distribution main prioritization matrix and CIP development. - Developed and calibrated the City of MIddleton's hydraulic model to analyze the system’s ability to meet high fire flow requirements with a growing demand and industrial developments. Infrastructure alternatives were analyzed to identify pipeline routes that provided fire flow redundancy to the proposed industrial development as well as improve available fire flow at existing buildings with high fire flow requirements that the existing system could not meet. -Managed the City of Hailey's existing hydraulic model and worked with developers to design and optimize proposed developments to incorporate into the system. Work included an analysis to develop a new pressure zone within the existing system and proposed developments. - Well and well house facility designs for new and existing public water systems and non-potable irrigation systems in Idaho.

Juneau, Ak

Summer intern working with various federal and state agencies on private land management and habitat studies. My first summer (May - August 2012) I worked at the corporate office in Juneau, AK and my second summer (May - August 2013) I worked at a satellite office on Prince of Wales Island. - Concluded the final analysis of a forest and fish monitoring study in Southeast Alaska. The study helped examine the effectiveness of protecting fish habitat and water quality in areas of timber harvesting. Study includes stream hydrologic analysis and data collection on riparian zone changes.- Partnered with the University of Washington and USDA Forest Sciences Lab to implement a new study called Forage Resource Evaluation System for Habitat. Implementation of the study included land evaluations of recent timber harvested areas and initial data evaluation of timber planting.- Ecologist on soil mapping team with Soil Scientist from the NRCS. Collected data on plant and wildlife habitat within 100 feet radius of soil plot.- Installed monitoring wells with the US Forest Service on Prince of Wales Island, AK. Wells were installed in areas with various ages of new growth trees in order to monitor the hydrologic effects from the timber industry.- Oversee of thinning and logging construction teams. Collected data on job quality and capability to meet environmental standards.
