Led a team of 5 which provided a support function to the relationship management teams in Enterprise Lending Services (ELS), a division in AIB that managed distressed loans. As part of my role I delivered a report to the Central Bank of Ireland on behalf of Senior Management on the operational efficiency and effectiveness of each of the five business units in ELS. This was a six month project requiring in-depth analysis to determine each units fitness for purpose as well as identification and recommendation of areas for improvement.Other key achievements:- Led an Operations team to consistently deliver the highest level of operational efficiency- Supported the development and/or roll-out of various processes, policies and procedures- Liaised with various units in the wider bank in order to develop key operating policies for ELS (e.g. Service Level Agreements)- Critically appraised and assessed processes, policies and procedures to ensure they were appropriate and operational- Facilitated sharing of best-practice and identifying operational inefficiencies and inconsistencies- Awareness of changes to industry codes and practices and identifying and implementing the operational changes required to maintain adherence to same- Line management responsibilities, including training, enhancement of skills, performance review, objective setting, career development and task delegation

- Led a team of 4 to manage and restructure a portfolio of distressed loans totalling c. €350m to maximise recovery for AIB- Prepared reports and strategy documents for and presentation to various AIB Credit Committees and forums as well as external reviewers and advisors- In-depth risk analysis of the portfolio to identify customers where consensual restructure was not possible and implementation of recovery or enforcement strategy

- Managed a NAMA-owned loan portfolio comprising large distressed property development and investment loans (c. €600m)- Responsibility for the transfer of these loans and assets to NAMA which involved extensive due diligence and liaising with third party professionals- Preparation of recommendations to NAMA on a broad range of debtor requests including funding applications, asset sales and the commercial viability of debtor proposals - Assessment of NAMA Business Plans submitted by debtors- Credit stewardship, mentoring and training of junior staff
