By this I mean - provided access to the skills and supports to enable them improve results, anticipate problems, develop strategies for success, implement change, maximise opportunities to grow the business, employment, and exports.For myself I wish to keep learning and making things happen. I continue to support businesses in a non-executive capacity and provide my business and corporate governance expertise to enable the development of future strategies and growth for those organisations I serve.Biography:I started as an accountant in a security company. Having helped make it profitable, I moved to become Financial Controller of The Point, now 3Arena. Eighteen months later, I was a Director of the company. During this time, I was one of the youngest people ever appointed to a state board, serving as a non-executive Director of An Post for 5 years.Moving to Galway, I became Finance Director of Transitions Optical in 1999, dealing with everything from pricing to compliance. Two years later, I became Supply Chain & Customer Service Director for Europe.In 2006, I started my own business advising start-up and established businesses in the West including projects for locally based multinationals and helped clients with funding, efficiencies, cost-cutting and positioning for growth/recovery.In 2010 I joined the Enterprise Board network (The Local Enterprise Offices since 2014) led the service delivery of the agency in Galway until 2023. I supported 60 businesses to transfer to become clients of Enterprise Ireland and funded projects to the value of €6.5 million creating 1200 new jobs during that time. 11 of those businesses have gone on to raise an additional €75m in funding and created further employment in the region and overseas.I have served on 15 Boards including Bia Innovator Campus Ltd., Galway Technology Centre and the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland. I currently serve on the Governing Authority of University of Galway and 4 sub committees (including as Chair of Investment and Capital Projects sub committees). I am a non-executive director for the Western Development Commission and serve as a member of the audit committee for the Galway Harbour Company.
