Investigated a high volume of complex injury claims across multiple states. Investigated, evaluated, negotiated, and settled auto claims in 5 states to include verification of coverage, legal liability, and extent of damage to persons and property. Excelled in different styles of communication, including telephone, correspondence, and various electronic media. Applied knowledge of policies, procedures, laws, statutes, and insurance regulations when determining coverage, liability, damages of injury (first and third party) and property damage. Recognized and reviewed claims requiring specialized handling, including identifying issues that may require the use of independent experts or vendors. Used various electronic resources for claim handling. Worked in partnership and provided instruction to claim associates. Assisted the Law Department with organizing case files and creating documentation needed for large cases. Kept track of cases on an Access document that needed specific counsel review and their statuses. Provided access to certain applications utilized in the department. Created Discovery documents for cases where the initial discovery was needing to be sent.

Supported up to 6 Discovery and Extra Contractual attorneys with their every day needs. This included but not limited to: creating documents for their review, managing their cases, identifying gaps, attending meetings, taking notes on their behalf, updating calendars, setting calls, and organizing complex cases.

Very production, metrics driven environment where I succeeded immensely compared to peers. Was responsible for Fire Property applications and inputting data from the electronic application to our database in order for the insured to get a proper bill. Made sure the data was correct and called out to the underwriter when it wasn’t.

Worked in Business Lines underwriting as the lead Coordinator handling the incoming/outgoing mail for the department and determining who needed to respond. Inputted paper applications for insurance from Agent’s offices. Ensured each application was inputted correctly before passing it off to the Underwriter for review. Created letters to the insureds based on the status of their insurance policy. Received bulk renewal policies which needed to be handled specially and sent to the insured for review.
