• As a Senior Mining Engineer, I managed a team of planning engineers in the Short Range group, over the Meikle and Banshee mines.Primary Job Duties included:
• Reviewing mine plans before finalization, and making any changes as needed to optimize plan
• Approving all mine development designs, survey cutsheets, and stope blast and timing designs
• Running various budget scenarios to establish the best plan, mine-wide
• Completing quarterly LOM mine plans
• Developing KPI's for oncoming automated equipment

• During my time with Barrick, I worked in several different roles, completed the Engineer-in-Training program (Compass 1), and attended various Leadership Programs. I held many roles during this position.Short Range.
• Managed daily and weekly plans for miners and Backfill crews
• Developed monthly rolling 3-Month Forecasts that were achievable, logical and met all budgeted and forecasted targets
• Completed annual budget plans that covered all mining activities in the next 2.5 years (completed this 5 times in my time with Barrick)
• Designed new cut-and-fill headings and stopes, sequenced these activities with current and future mining activities
• Visited underground working areas to monitor progress of active mining areas and adhesion to design, as well as to develop plans in response to issues that arise during the mining cycle

• This summer internship was centered around Rock Mechanics, assisting with everyday duties as well as investigating a more in depth project.Primary Work Completed:
• Used RocScience Phase2 to model various stoping dimensions and excavation sequences to optimize the safety and design stability for a new underground mine.
• Assisted with Rock Mechanics QA/QC work

• Introductory Internship to Open Pit mining, where I gained familiarity with safety practices in a production mine and was introduced to the typical structure of a Mining Engineering Team.Primary Areas of Focus:
• Worked with Ore Control and Projects engineers
• Worked with Survey/Sampling teams
• Completed a Quality Control Project for sampling procedures
