As the marketing and event coordination intern for the 420 Loft, I helped organize and manage the First Friday Art Walks each month. It was my duty to send out press releases and utilize mass emails sites like Mailchimp to spread the word of new art shows and details. One major accomplishment during my internship was taking the role as the lead event coordinator for the 420 Loft CWU Student Art Show for the month of June. I created a critical path that involved promotions and overall structure for the art submission process. In order to get students involved with the art show, it was my responsibility to promote on campus through the school newspaper, publicity center, radio station, and throughout campus with flyers. My internship taught me crucial multitasking skills and the ability to make executive decisions when necessary. I also developed time management skills and experience with design when creating flyers with Illustrator.

My time as a staff writer for CWU Pulse Magazine gave me the freedom to develop my creative writing and journalism skills. The area of CWU Pulse Magazine I focused on was the Ellensburg community so it was important to stay up to date with current events that were relevant and appealing. As an editor, I mentored three students with how to approach certain topics with interviewing and writing ideas. My role as an editor allowed me to practice my attention to detail and ability for critical thinking in order to maintain a flow for readers.

While I was a junior account executive for CWU Communication Agency, I worked within my group to create communication strategies for our client, the Ellensburg Downtown Association. My role involved researching the EDA's target audience for downtown businesses that would be featured in the second annual CWU Student Coupon Book. I developed relationships with business owners to persuade their business to purchase a coupon space in the book. Another job duty I completed involved utilizing social media sites like Facebook as a outlet for promotional posts towards key publics.
