Design Engineer for NRCS Louisiana, focusing primarily on large-scale wetland restoration projects under the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA). In addition to designing projects I have also served as project manager for active construction contracts, managing stakeholder concerns and designing contract modifications in response to changing site conditions.In this role I have also provided engineering assistance to local watershed councils and landowners on how to better manage water resources, from more efficient irrigation to flood prevention projects.

The bulk of my responsibilities in this role involved the development and implementation of a predictive GIS model for an investigation of irrigation trends across the entire state of California. As an ecological engineer, my knowledge of watershed processes and hydrology were utilized for identifying riparian areas and evaluating their health in a wide variety of environmental zones. This position not only taught me a lot about the use of machine learning algorithms in large-scale data analysis, but it also gave me an opportunity to directly shape irrigation regulations and increase water sustainability.
