Technical Problem Solver
My job at Epic is about helping customers achieve their goals and succeed within the space of Population Health and Value Based Performance analytics. For my customer-facing work I collaborate with several large health organizations across the country and give assistance in their use and implementation of the Epic EMR. That role includes advising the customer on the tools they create to help clinical and analytics users in population health; providing technical assistance on complex issues related to Epic's software; helping the customers understand and implement new functionality as Epic releases it; and connecting them with other organizations so they can help achieve their mutual goals.Internally, I am one of the owners of our Value Based Performance workgroup. This group of experts helps other Epic staff support their own customers using a suite of analytics tools. These tools help our customers to understand their patient populations and make executive decisions to improve the quality of care while reducing costs. I have acted as an advisor to several customers installing this tool, and provide feedback to developers as we Epic updates and enhances the product. I also create and maintain tools that help Epic employees troubleshoot issues with customer's data warehouses and validate the accuracy of the data we present to end users.
Student Research Assistant
I contributed to an effort to model a new liquid lithium particle capture and wall protection method for next generation fusion power devices. My role included creating a simple mathematical model of the device's magnetic fields and creating a simulation of the device in a physical modeling program. We used this model to try and understand the instabilities of a conducting, liquid layer in an environment with large changes in magnetic field density.
Student Hourly
I worked under the instructional labs director as a student hourly. Over the summer my duties we to catalog and re-inventory all the equipment for 6 lab courses offered during the school year, repairing broken equipment, and working with the other hourlies and TA's to develop new lab guidelines for our new data collecting system. During the school year I was responsible for setting up and maintaining lab equipment for the intro lab courses.
