As of May 2012 I graduated with honors and a BS in Mass Communications and Political Science. Not only have I gained new knowledge and skills, but I have enhanced old ones. There is a zest burning inside of me to put the past four years to use. Because I have a passion for what I do, I have that much more confidence in my abilities. It is a goal of mine to continue growing in my field (whatever that may be) making an impact everywhere I am.I have already grown and learned an incredible amount since the beginning of my internship in January. By jumping into this experience, I have realized how much there is to be gained from experience outside of the classroom. I have a solid grasp on what makes a nonprofit tick on the inside so that it is seen as a member of the community by the outside community.Though I am more than capable of working in the office, I have also been fortunate to learn the business building and project management side of things. Before Legends on Main became a member of the downtown Watertown business sector, we had to bring the idea to life. Not only did I participate in the unglamorous gutting and remodeling of our building, I learned to successfully manage a construction project in the most detail oriented and efficient manner. This is a side of business that I feel lucky to have been part of, and many people cannot say the same.Like I previously said, my main goal at this point in my life is to use all of this to the best of my abilities and continue to enhance my own self.
