The Director of Education & Community Engagement directs a team of staff, volunteers, and interns who plan and implement IHS programs. Essential job functions include planning, implementing, evaluating, advocating, and growing Indiana. Experience-related programs and mission-based community collaborations for K-12 students and educators, school partnerships and programs, professional development and teacher training, family and community programs, adults, and the general public at the Eugene & Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center and as outreach to a statewide network of historical organizations. This position also makes connections to the local community and Indiana history in relevant and long-lasting ways by building on-going community relationships, raising the level of civic dialogue, positioning the History Center as a community forum that stimulates learning and discussion, and building community support for the IHS mission.
