Being a social worker always just felt right when deciding on my desired career path. From doing volunteer work to simply increasing my knowledge of the different cultures and perspectives of the people in my community, I found that social work is what was the best term for my interest. I have a strong passion for engaging with individuals and families to advocate and partner with them in strengthening their walks of life. I am blessed to be able to provide a variety of volunteer services throughout the years to support my community in making an impact. Coming from a minority background, I have learned, seen, and been part of a variety of disadvantages posed to minority communities and have found an interest in continuing to learn and be part of the movement to bridge these gaps. My biggest piece of motivation comes from the generations before me that have paved the way for where I am today. Living the dreams of my ancestors and continuing to make accomplishments for future generations is truly what drives my spirit to continue this social work path. Being able to identify and acknowledge the impact I have on individuals, families, and communities, further develops my sense of purpose within the field. My level of desire and commitment throughout my educational years only strengthens my excitement for the future. I believe there is a great road ahead of us, and I am excited to be a part of the journey.
