I hold a PhD from Maastricht University, Netherlands (2018), where I focused on enhancing obstetrics training outcomes through instructional design guidelines in my thesis titled "Simulation Design Matters: Improving Obstetrics Training Outcomes," specifically addressing postpartum hemorrhage. I also have a Master’s degree in Maternal and Child Health from IMIP (2008) and completed medical residencies in General Surgery at Oswaldo Cruz University Hospital, University of Pernambuco (UPE) (2006), and in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira (IMIP) (2004). I am a board-certified specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FEBRASGO).Currently, I serve as the Academic Coordinator of the Simulation Center at Faculdade Pernambucana de Saúde (CSim-FPS), affiliated with the Albert Einstein Realistic Simulation Center. Additionally, I am a preceptor for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at IMIP and a physician with the Telehealth State Nucleus of Pernambuco at the State Health Department. I also contribute as a member of the National Specialties Commission (CNE) for High-Risk Pregnancy (GAR) of the Brazilian Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (Febrasgo) for the 2024-2027 term and as a member of the AMEE Simulation Committee (2024-2027).My research currently focuses on simulation training and the improvement of obstetric care. In 2022, I had the privilege of being a visiting professor at the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. In 2023, I completed the Healthcare Simulation Essentials: Design and Debriefing course at Harvard University's Center for Medical Simulation.
