Brenda Bentley has experience as an Accounting Manager for non profit entities. In this position she: (a) was responsible for the accuracy of the General Ledger and all supporting documentation and schedules; (b) managed two accountants, the accounts payable and payroll offices; (c) was responsible for accurate accounting of grants and donations; (d) worked closely with the Director of Accounting and reported to the CFO; and (e) was the point man for the monthly and end of year closings ensuring the accuracy of all schedules and entries. I have a proven record of working well in leadership roles.Additionally, in her accounting career she have led and participated in teams that have successfully installed and implemented accounting, payroll, and purchasing software. Other accomplishments include: (a) advising and assisting numerous start-up and existing companies in setting up accounting systems and internal control practices; (b) training personnel in the use of Excel and accounting software; (c) preparing companies for their first external audits; (d) successfully completing numerous external audits, each time receiving an unqualified opinion; (e) prepared management reports, statements, and reports for outside concerns such as banks, grantors –both government and privates and submitted report to these concerns electronically. In addition, I have outlined and implemented procedures designed to strengthen existing internal controls.
