Selling extenders and fillers (calcium carbonates, kaolin and talc) into the paint, adhesive, plastic, ceramic, concrete and rubber industries.

NAKAMBALA PRODUCT ALIGNMENT AND REFINERY PROJECT – Expansion of a sugar mill in Zambia.This is a contract position. I am responsible for all expediting issues with the vendors for their respective contracts, including performing post order coordination with vendors and expediting materials to ensure the delivery schedule matches specifications. I coordinate timely flow of engineering documents between supplier and concerned sections, handle any delivery inconsistencies and identify potential delays to the agreed schedule in conjunction with the Senior Planner and Project Manager. I integrate with and work alongside the controls team and perform all related tasks as and when directed by the supervisor. I am also responsible for handling the procurement and contract issues for some of the packages, alongside the other contracts administration team members.

I am part of the Procurement team responsible for all Procurement issues on this Project, across all the Engineering disciplines, which included drafting and issuing tenders in association with the relevant client’s Terms and Conditions, adjudicating the submissions and ensuring commercial compliance of the successful tenderer, drafting and issuing the Purchase Order and managing all the communication with the supplier, particularly before the order is placed. I am responsible for maintaining my section of the Procurement weekly report and ensuring all the commercial data is on the system. I am also the dedicated Procurement person for the Overland Conveyor for this project

This position involved Purchasing spare parts for a Trucking Company in Zimbabwe, as well as a Mine in the DRC – Receiving Purchase Requisitions from Site, Sourcing suitable Suppliers and stock, Negotiating the best prices and delivery dates, ensuring the quality is acceptable and expediting timely payment and delivery. Proficiency in Accpac is essential, together with accurate record keeping of documents and tracking sheets. This position also requires close interaction with Site, Logistics and the Financial Team.

This position involved Purchasing for a Mine in the DRC – Receiving Purchase Requisitions from the Mine, Sourcing suitable Suppliers and stock, Negotiating the best prices and delivery dates, ensuring the quality is acceptable and expediting timely payment and delivery. Proficiency in Sage is essential, together with accurate record keeping of documents and tracking sheets. This position also requires close interaction with Site, Logistics and the Financial Team.

This contract position involved managing the entire Purchasing cycle for a Mine being built in the DRC – Receiving Purchase Requisitions from the Mine, Sourcing suitable Suppliers and stock, Negotiating better prices and delivery dates, emphasising the Vat issues relating to exporting, ensuring the quality was acceptable and expediting timely payments and delivery. Proficiency in Oracle and Marian was essential, together with accurate record keeping of documents and tracking sheets. This position also required close interaction with Site, and the Engineering, Logistics and Financial Teams.

This position involved managing all aspects of purchasing and receiving steel for a Mini Merchant – Determining quantities and what to order based on stock levels, Negotiating prices and deliveries, managing stock levels, ensuring the quality was acceptable and assessing and improving reports, systems and procedures. This position also required close interaction with the Sales and Financial departments. I had 3 people reporting to me.

This position involved the Purchasing and Exporting of items required for 3 Holiday Resorts in Mozambique and Zimbabwe. This incorporated purchasing the items, managing the logistics of warehousing the items, consolidating the shipments, supervising the loading of the trucks and containers and completing all the documentation related to the export, including F178’s, and Packing lists.

This was a temporary position with a 6-month contract, replacing the Exports Controller while she was on Maternity leave.This position required interaction with the Marketing, Production and Financial departments. It included the running and managing of all aspects of exporting kaolin from Cape Town to customers all over the world, from receiving the order, booking the vessels, arranging the transport of the containers to the harbour in conjunction with the stack dates, ensuring stock availability for despatch, and completing all the documentation related to the export, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin and F178’s. Another aspect of the job was co-ordinating the deliveries for the local market, and managing the Logistics for stock holding of kaolin at the remote warehouses.
