As Director of Operations for Mentor New York, Brenda has led the transformation of the organization by restructuring the organization from two local office in Long Island and New York City to one central operation serving local communities throughout New York State. Brenda has driven and managed the organization's:* Re-branding * Website redesign and all promotional and training materialsShe has been instrumental in building new partnerships to expand services and increase brand recognition. She also has been able to design and guide consulting partners in the customization of Sales force which has increased staff production and efficiency. In the past 18 months the organization has strengthened its financial position, increased it services and the impact it has on the children that are mentored throughout the state. The organization is poised to become an independent 501c(3) and continue its vision to close the mentoring gap for the over 450,000 children that need and want a mentor in New York State.

Designed and facilitated "Developing Your Leadership Skills"; "Building Effective Leadership Teams"

* In partnership with TCC Group, conducted organizational assessments in key agencies to determine current program and business practices while considering shifts needed for viability. * Support at least 45 agencies annually through coaching in the areas of finance, fund development, performance management, and board development.* Oversee business planning processes in over 150 affiliates focused on expanding their program service and fund development strategies resulting in $80k of new revenue and 30 new or improved direct service programs.* Lead consultant to agencies considering mergers- resultant in 5 successful affiliate mergers in the region as well as one n multiple non-profit agency merger.* Conduct executive coaching to newly hired CEOs, or restructured leadership teams and boards; resulting in organizational shifts that generated double digit growth in total children served and revenue in each agency.* Acted as Interim Director for NE Region from 1/07-11/07, managing two consultants, developing and implementing regional strategy while interfacing with other departments to develop quality management resources for affiliates.* Lead the closure and development of a new BBBS non-profit affiliate in a major market by providing all start up consultation and strategy execution for board development, fund development and hiring of executive staff resulting in the growth of revenue and service 4xs that of the original affiliate.

Held three separate positions during my tenure at Girls Scouts of the USA: Volunteer and Diversity Resource Development Consultant (6/04-12/05), Program, Research and Membership Consultant (1/03-05/04), Volunteer Development and Diversity Consultant, Northeast Region (1/01-12/02). Accomplishments include:• With a cross-functional team of management consultants, conducted at least 12 on-sight organizational assessments in Girl Scout councils in the NE Region resulting in councils implementing comprehensive and effective organizational systems, restructuring volunteer outreach and diversifying girl membership which supported an overall 1.0% membership increase in the region.• Co-managed a $1.9 million volunteer project that examined and developed alternative administrative volunteer models.• Conducted and managed pilot with 10 Girl Scout councils to glean best practices for alternative volunteer models and assisted in the development and implementation of assessment tools, resources, and consultation for pilot project. • Contributed to published research, Voices of Volunteers 18-29.• Developed and delivered training curriculum to inform and instruct local affiliates to attract and retain volunteers 18-29.• Facilitated and designed training in both English and Spanish to support local affiliate staff enhance their understanding and skills in volunteer recruitment and retention strategies,serving niche markets, planning, marketing, fund development, diversity, governance and staff program management.• Designed and conducted diversity training for 1/3 of the councils in the region resulting in increased outreach and community engagement in the Latino community which impacted a 3% increase in Hispanic membership in the nation.

• Managed a full time staff of one and a part-time volunteer staff of 10 while also overseeing a $300,000 budget.• Actively raised and managed funds for $1.8 million Combined Federal Campaign.• Managed the recruitment, retention, and training of a 22 member campaign volunteer committee. • Enhanced fundraising strategies for assigned United Way member agencies which supported a 5% increase in revenue• Supported the development of departmental goals and organizational strategic plan.Assistant Director Public Sector Campaigns (6/98-6/00) • Managed over 25 lead fundraising volunteers resulting in at least 5% increase over 2 annual workplace campaigns.• Oversaw the donations of over 500 federal employee volunteers throughout the State. • Developed all training manuals for solicitation and volunteer cultivation, later presented at a national conference.• Organized and executed annual recognition reception for over 600 volunteers.• Created all marketing themes and materials for campaigns (newsletters, brochure, themes and awards).• Contracted, supervised, and assisted in producing the annual campaign video.• Conduct training’s for volunteers and leadership on solicitation, philanthropy, and volunteerism.
