I don't believe in the words "I can't do this." Anything I have ever wanted to do, I just went out and I have done it. That is why I am such a diverse person. People have a hard time believing I have done all the things I have done, but I just believe if you want to do something, what is there to stop you, as long as it does not hurt someone else? Who CARES what other people think, if you decide you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane and parachute down to the earth from 15,000 feet? If you want to join the circus and be a performer, go for it! Be what you want to be that makes you happy. What you do in your life, whatever it is, is what makes you are what you are today. One of my clients, who has had many associations with people in the CIA, was sitting with me and a neighbor at her table, and we were drinking coffee and eating pastries, and even though I have had several Level II FBI checks for the Health Care Industry and of course have nothing to hide, I have to say it was somewhat disconcerting to have my client say, "Well, I am certain that Brenda has done everything she has ever talked about that she says she has ever done. She WAS a circus performer, she WAS a jockey in New Mexico, She was a career air traffic controller in Ohio, California and was a Branch Manager in Washington DC before she moved to Las Vegas where she retired, and she has done everything she has said she ever did. I had no doubt. I had her thoroughly checked out." I was a little dumbfounded. I had just been thoroughly checked out by people in the CIA all the way back to my teenage years. I wondered if they knew how many boyfriends I had back then (just kidding). It was, needless to say, just a little creepy, but I guess I checked out just fine. Goes to show, I made a believer out of her, and I just say to people the truth as it is. At least she got to know I wasn't a complete liar that made up ridiculous stories to embellish my life to make it a complete fantasy story.
