About Brenda Wilson

An educator, leader, and military veteran, Brenda Wilson is also a community-builder who is passionate about inspiring others to explore and utilize drones and remote-control technology in personal, professional, and research capacities. Even prior to retiring from a 27-year career leading engineering and construction business units with Comcast, Brenda’s entrepreneurial ambitions led to her opening DieHard RC in 2015, creating an all-seasons venue for both novices and seasoned experts to hone their competitive skills and share their knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport of remote-control racing. Her success with DieHard RC earned her the 2023 Veteran Small Business of the Year from Business Impact NW and the SBA as well as a finalist spot in 2018’s Impact Pitch, and she won the 2019 Ford Fund Grant for Business Owners. As a certified and accomplished drone pilot, Brenda’s passion is to inspire and propel the next generation of drone pilots and technicians with a special emphasis on increasing the number of girls and women in the industry, which is the mission of the 1000 Drones for 1000 Girls Brenda is co-founder of the non-profit 1,000 Drones for 1,000 Girls project in 2020, a woman- and service-disabled veteran-owned company.
