Paradise Oaks operates 6 facilities in the Sacramento area each licensed for 6 beds. Our 36 male residents are supervised 24-hours a day with trained and educated staff. Our state rate classification level (RCL) is 12.Provide direct care and supervision of adolescent males residing in a Level 12 residential treatment facility. Paradise Oaks Youth Services and Valley Oak Academy’s main objectives are to provide a safe, supervised and structured residential setting for young people between the ages of 11 and 17, who have been diagnosed as Severely Emotionally Disturbed. In addition to residential care, we provide social, psychiatric, educational and vocational services. The ultimate goal of these activities is to encourage each client to develop abilities that will allow him to gain a sense of self-worth, increased independence and practical living skillsWe utilize a behavioral point and level system to determine the resident’s degree of trust and privileges. Interactive communication between the resident and counselors is emphasized. Our program promotes vocational opportunities and living skills to educate the resident and maintain involvement in the program. As the resident participates in the program and his behavior is appropriate and safe, he is then rewarded with praise, activities and privileges. Above all, our level system is centered on safety, supervision, and structure.
