Having practiced law for over 20 years, I primarily represent businesses in the energy industry in building and/or expanding projects or investing in those projects, whether renewable energy or other electric generation and electric or gas transmission projects. I currently serve as Co-Chair of Barclay Damon's Regulatory Practice Area co-chair, Co-Team Leader of the firm's Renewable Energy Team, and a partner in our Energy, Regulatory, and Project Development Practice Areas. I often appear before public utility commissions and other administrative agencies, like the New York State Public Service Commission and other state and local governmental agencies. I also help clients on various transactions for energy-related projects, including interconnection, power purchase, energy management, fuel supply, and transportation agreements. I began my practice in Washington DC, in a specialized area of property rights litigation, assisting clients in obtaining just compensation for the taking of their property rights, usually regulatory takings that involved the impact of regulations imposed under the Clean Water Act, Superfund, etc. Outside of my legal practice, I am highly invested in my historic, urban neighborhood in Syracuse, New York, often working on community development projects in the Strathmore neighborhood and near downtown Syracuse.
