I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA). With 22 years'​ experience as a copy editor and proofreader, I've handled children's educational materials–both fiction and nonfiction, and fiction and nonfiction books for the children's and adult markets. [Note: I do not accept work in the horror or erotica genres.]As a professional author since 1999, I've written countless reading comprehensions, readers'​ theaters, and plays in the field of education, as well as more than 400 short stories for Union Gospel Press. I also write two blogs as time permits: "Confessions of a Single Parent Author and Editor"​ and "Christmas All Year Long."​My writing career began when I wrote human interest articles for a local newspaper called The Times Examiner. Then my article about how my family came together was published in "Today's Christian Woman"​ magazine under the title "My Surprise Family"​ in 1999. Later that year, my poem about Thanksgiving was published in "Clubhouse Jr."​ From 2005 - 2007, I wrote a Grammar Tips column for H.O.P.E. Unlimited, a website that originally supported secretarial staff but now offers virtual assistants (and assistance) to Help Overwhelmed Professionals Excel (and Exhale).From 2013 - 2019 I was the communications specialist for the Best Singer in the District and the Best Singer in the State competitions. (My name appeared in the rolling credits of the televised events!) I also managed the Facebook page and was involved in the Twitter account and providing info to our webmaster. Operations ceased when the pandemic disrupted our planned auditions and competitions.In 2016 I joined the Write2Ignite leadership team, and in addition to running the Instagram and Twitter accts and organizing critiques, I led a poetry workshop for teens at the 2017, 2018, and 2019 Write2Ignite conferences.
