For the past 20 years my career journey has led me from through various public institutions in Canada including academia and strategic public policy and Senior Management. My career path has been unconventional and the journey to owning my story as a woman, as a black professional, as an immigrant and a scientist in STEM has been bumpy to say the least. I have heard "no" more often than I have heard "yes". I have grown to appreciate that some of those “no’s” were a blessing in disguise and I’m grateful for the tenacity and determination produced by those seasons of resistance. I’m living proof that if it didn’t kill you it certainly made you stronger. I’m a passionate public servant leader committed to driving results and change for Canadians while encouraging those I’m privileged to work with to prioritize their mental health and family responsibilities always prioritizing: relationships, results and empathy.In 2023 I launched a passion project The Career Slay Talks Podcast where I talk to leading voices and share tips on how to advance your career, centring Black Canadian voices and the African diaspora.
