I focus on AI and rural mental health and education access through a combination of research, social entrepreneurship, and non-profit efforts.I founded Elevation Gateway (elevationgateway.com), a startup focused on using ethical AI to level the college admissions playing field for underrepresented and low-income applicants. Our team has won multiple funding prizes through VentureWell, InnovateHealth Yale, and the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking. We were recently selected for a partnership with Yale Law School. As an MD-PhD candidate at the Yale School of Medicine, I work with Dr. Dustin Scheinost in the Multimodal Imaging, Neuroinformatics, and Data Science (MINDS) Lab. I previously worked with Dr. Alan Anticevic in the Division of Neurocognition, Neurocomputation, and Neurogenetics (N3). My research focuses on harnessing human neuroimaging to build machine learning models with the aim of predicting individual illness trajectories and treatment responses in psychiatry. I also evaluate how these models may be biased in underrepresented patient populations ($120K grant from the NIMHD). I have served as a reviewer for The Lancet Regional Health and as a Research Topic Coordinator for Frontiers in Psychology. Luce Foundation and the Advisory Council for Cocoa360, a non-profit that facilitates access to healthcare and education in rural Ghanian cocoa farming communities. Previously, I was the supervisor of a mobile health clinic that provided care across eleven migrant farmworker communities in Ohio and Michigan.
