About Brendan Bartlett
Ko Hikurangi te maunga, ko Waiapu te awa, ko Horouta te waka, ko Ngati Porou te iwi.Tena koutou katoa.I am a born, bred and educated Gisborne boy. Following school, I worked at KPMG in Gisborne, and then went on to tertiary study, achieving my accounting degree and CA qualification. I then headed off for the big OE which lasted 7 years. My OE was based in London where I worked in several contract accounting roles, and travelled the world as much as I could between those roles. I returned to NZ in late 2006, settled in Wellington, joined ANZ and worked there for 12 years. Most of this time (9 years) was within the ANZ Finance team, progressing through various roles within the Institutional Division. I then took a leap well outside my comfort zone to work in the ANZ frontline, as a Business Banking Manager. After enjoying success in my first 18 months in Business Banking, I was promoted to a senior role in the region, looking after high value and complex businesses.Wanting a change in lifestyle, my young family and I moved to Hastings in January 2019, and I have enjoyed my senior finance role at Bostock NZ since then. Learning about horticulture & exporting has been challenging, rewarding and incredibly beneficial to my development. I am fortunate to be working closely every day with some very knowledgeable finance and business leaders in the Bostock business - including the owner - progressing my development further. I have always actively sought out and participated in areas outside of my core role in the various organisations I have worked for. Examples of these include being a “Finance Advocate” within ANZ - organising conferences, publications, and social & sporting events. I also was a committee member and finance manager for the ANZ’s Maori Staff Network. In my current Bostock employment, I continue to be involved in organising social, sporting and cultural events.Outside of work, my wife and I have 3 primary school age children who are the centre of our lives. I enjoy many sports, both participating and spectating, particularly in rugby, squash, tennis, cricket, indoor netball, touch rugby and running, and I also coach my children’s teams. I also take numerous opportunities to embrace my Maori language, culture and heritage.
Listed skills include Management, Financial Analysis, Business Analysis, Banking, and 6 others.
