Contributing to the strategic directions of the Operations Directorate by supporting the Regional Manager with the daily operational management of the Region including participating in the Regional Duty Officer roster and performing the role of Regional Commander when appointed; and leading the development and maintenance of Unit operational capability and capacity.Performing incident management roles at Incident and Regional level, undertaking operational performance review activities with the Region post event and developing and conducting both Regional and multi-agency training exercises.Contribute to develop & manage the Regional Operations and Training Business Plan, monitoring the training budget, and supporting the delivery of Unit training plans. I gained an understanding of groundwater and surface water interaction by attending a groundwater and surface water interaction course conducted by the Australian Centre for Groundwater Studies. Management of a team of drilling crews and geotechnical surveying teams to complete intensive geotechnical and groundwater investigations relating to the construction of the $750Mill Sugarloaf Pipeline Project by the Sugarloaf Pipeline Alliance (SLPA). The tasked involved tight deadlines and a politically sensitive environment. I took ownership and responsibility of the investigation and ensured my team was fully supported to meet all objectives. The experience gave me a vast understanding of various business units within a large scale project and within an organisation. The work program complied with the high standards contained with the SLPA Environmental Management Plans was a challenge which saw me liaise with an extensive range of specialists through the course of the project. In addition to the above, this included but was not limited to; cultural heritage archaeologists, site environmental officers, underground service locators, contaminated soil experts and engineers from various fields.
