The Executive Director provides senior leadership and direction for the development, implementation and assessment of strategies, program/service objectives and operations that support patient-focused seamless care that is integrated across hospital and community settings.The portfolio includes strategic and operational leadership of:• a 300 bed tertiary regional hospital • a 50 bed community hospital • 300 beds of long term care across two facilities • two 10 bed hospices• Home Health and Home support services for the Abbotsford and Mission Communities. Responsible for leading a large and diverse workforce as well as stewardship for the annual operating and capital budget for the portfolio. Reporting to the Executive Director is a senior leadership team consisting of Clinical Operations Directors and Managers.The Executive Director identifies short, medium and long-term objectives, plans, programs and services that improve care, ensure clinical quality, and meet regulatory requirements aligned to Fraser Health's Strategic and Service plans. The role represents Fraser Health and the Health Services Community with stakeholders, patient/residents/clients and families. Co-chairing both the Abbotsford Collaborative Services Committee and Mission Collaborative Services Committee – In partnership with the local Division of Family Practice these committees bring together community partners including local first nations, mental health, public health, non-government organizations, and patient representatives to address local needs and the development of collaborative solutions.

The Executive Director is responsible for helping set and execute provincial direction to support achieving a high-functioning, integrated system of care that meets the needs of all British Columbians. Role and responsibilities included:- Led the creation and implementation of cross-government and cross-sector strategies, action plans and performance measures required to build a high quality, evidence-based and outcomes focused continuum of services- Developed strategies and policies using a population-based methodology and health sector performance management framework- Supported system-level improvement activities at the provincial, regional and local levels- Measured and monitored progress in alignment with achieving better health outcomes and experiences for both providers and patients, at sustainable system costs- Engaged and built partnerships to facilitate greater integration, cooperation and collaboration across the health systemCommittee Roles:- Government co-chair - Specialist Services Committee – a joint committee of the Ministry and Doctors of BC with approximately $55 million in annual funding. The committee oversees incentives, projects and initiatives to foster collaboration, and quality improvement across the health system in partnership with specialist physicians. - Government co-chair - Facility Engagement Working group - in partnership with the Doctors of BC, this working group lead the development and implementation of Physician Engagement Societies across BC Hospitals to improve physician engagement and improved collaboration. - Ministry Representative -Non-Hospital Medical Surgical Facilities Accreditation Committee – Led by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons, this governance committee provides oversight for the accreditation of all new and existing private non-hospital medical and surgical facilities including clinical and facility standards, patient safety reviews, and final approval of any accreditation status granted.
