I am currently studying at Leeds Becket University with the hopes of progressing into a career in Biochemistry. Whilst studying i have learned more than the knowledge handed to me in lectures and found in books. Through modules such as professional scientific practice i have learned how to think scientifically and apply the knowledge i have found to develop a better understanding of subjects in science to come to my own conclusions and question data and studies produced by others.During my time studying i have had a lot of time to familiarise myself with the lab environment and the equipment found in labs. In modules such as biochemistry and haematology i have had much practice using the equipment in a lab carrying out protein assays. I have also learned how to create and carry out my own experiments writing my own standard operating procedures, carrying out risk assessments and generating reports on my findings.
