Responsible for enterprise-wide data and information governance, control, and use for Ivy Tech, the nation's largest singly-accredited community college system offering affordable degree programs, courses and transfer opportunities for nearly 175,000 students each year across the state of Indiana• Earned the 2017 Data & Analytics Excellence Award from Gartner, Inc. for Ivy Tech's innovative self-service analytics system (NewT) which leverages an industry-leading cloud-based data warehouse platform, curated data collections, and integrated data dictionaries to directly empower thousands of employees to interactively use relevant data in support of college operations and student success.• Facilitated implementation of "Project Early Success", an applied predictive analytics program to successfully identify students likely to fail registered courses within the first 2-weeks of the term and then provide targeted outreach resulting in the college's largest single fall-to-fall drop in failing midterm grades. • Negotiated and oversaw implementation of a new electronic course evaluations platform for students to provide course feedback including integrated dashboards at faculty, region, and statewide levels.• Led enterprise data governance and curation across all organizational domains including students, finance, financial aid, human resources, advancement, information technology, and others.• Successfully negotiated and expanded statewide agreements with third party data providers and negotiated new data sharing agreements with other state agencies.

Direct data oversight, reform, and modernization for one of the nation's largest community college districts. Chair of the Enterprise Architecture & Standards Committee. Executive sponsor for data policies, standards, quality and governance, Manage the design and deployment of unified information and analytics systems including enterprise data lineage and business definition management.• Led the design and delivery of a ground-breaking data warehouse/BI solution (OpenBook) utilized directly by more than 5,800 faculty, administrators and staff. Led complete engagement, including vendor management, information technology, marketing, support, and legal.• Established and Chair the Enterprise Architecture & Standards Committee creating hardware, software, networking, data, security, systems management, access, communications, development, project management, and integration standards.• Spearheaded the development of new services for students and staff by developing relationships with big data services organizations and application providers.• Established the organization's Data Acquisition Platform to centralize and standardize data from internal and external database platforms and enable cross-platform analytics for strategic planning and operational efficiency.• Standardized remedial student placement and level progression and reduced analysis reporting times from days to minutes by driving the creation of a Developmental Education Module for OpenBook.• Reduced costs by negotiating favorable agreements with data and service providers.

Maintained one of west coast’s largest on-premise implementations of Omniture, along with data platforms containing more than 70 billion records and growing at 100 million records per day.• Re-engineered business processes and revised technology platforms to streamline data acquisition / processing operations and accelerate time-to-analytics.• Founded CUBS, Demand Media’s data users group to facilitate relevant, interactive and on-demand analytics across the vertical lines of business.• Renegotiated vendor contracts resulting in a 50% decrease in support and licensing costs across the board.

Managed analysis and documentation functions for data warehouse and BI projects at $20B insurance provider. Developed and established full cycle business and data analysis practices. Supervised staff of 25 analysts.• Directed requirements gathering, data analysis, and documentation for enterprise projects to centralize insurance policy, premium, claim, and loss data from two major insurance companies into single multi-terabyte data warehouse.• Designed both the business and data analysis practices for the commercial business insurance division including development of customized training programs through Travelers University for analysts working in data fields.• Led development of and implemented metadata-based analysis tools for both dynamic SQL code generation & management of cross-project data mappings from originating data sources to target models.

Oversaw development, improvement, and management of the billing platform, business intelligence reporting services, and data warehousing for a $180M+ provider of faxing, voicemail, and unified messaging solutions. Administered $5M in budgets. Supervised a multi-departmental task force, including 11 direct reports.
