Napier, Hawke’S Bay, New Zealand

First multi crew role on a DHC-8 Q300 operating scheduled passenger flights within New Zealand.

Operated multiple types of Aircraft (RC690, AC680, C402, Cresco) on Photographic, Lidar, and Visual surveys in NZ and North Africa. Cresco work was low level, contour following Lidar survey. RC690 work was mostly photographic and required precision hand flying for long periods of time.

Aerobatic tourist flights in a Pitts S2B, Helped develop good manual flying skills and particularly aircraft behaviour in an upset condition.

Operated a PAC Cresco STOL agricultural aircraft converted for skydive operation. Developed SOPs for the safe management of the skydive operation in a busy mountainous region. Developed a strong understanding of how terrain effects wind and weather.

Twin and single Piston operations flying tourists to luxury lodges in remote parts of Namibia, Cargo flights moving Diamonds from the mines on the south west coast of Namibia, Medical staff and supplies to remote areas of Angola just after it had come out of a civil war, Low level animal survey in both Namibia and Angola

Botswana

Twin and single piston short field operations flying tourists and freight to remote luxury lodges in northern Botswana. Learned to deal with high altitude, high temperature effects on aircraft in short dirt strip condition
