I provide intellectual property counseling to assist clients with procurement, commercialization, and enforcement, and leverage my expertise in disputes and deals involving technology and brand issues.

I am an instructor and team leader on mobile training teams with the Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG). MCTOG provides advanced individual training to designated operations and intelligence personnel within the Ground Combat Element (GCE), provides advanced collective staff training for the GCE, leads GCE doctrine and training standard development and refinement, and examines emerging concepts and technology in order to enhance GCE operational readiness and interoperability in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force.

I was a student at and graduated from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College via the distance and weekend seminar programs. The Marine Corps Command and Staff College provides officers with graduate level professional military education and training to produce skilled warfighting leaders able to overcome diverse 21st century security challenges.

I commanded the Battalion's Weapons Company (Mortar, Heavy Machine Gun, and Anti-Armor platoons) and served as the Battalion's Fire Support Coordinator. I led up to 110 machinegunners, mortarmen, and antitank missilemen in Ohio and another 20 anti-armor specialists in Oklahoma; and I planned and cleared the delivery of fires from mortars, artillery, and close air support.

I commanded the infantry battalion's Headquarters and Service Company comprising approximately 175 Marines supporting and sustaining the battalion through administration, intelligence, operations, logistics, supply, and communications functions.

I planned and managed operations and training for a Reserve infantry battalion including 800 or more Marines and sailors. I coordinated activities between three rifle companies, the Weapons Company, the Headquarters and Service Company, and other entities.

I was second in command of an infantry company including up to 180 Marines and attachments. I planned and supervised operations for rifle, weapons, and headquarters platoons within the Company. I also coordinated operations and communication with higher headquarters. I served as the primary advisor to the company commander, and directed and developed subordinate officers and enlisted Marines. I assumed command and fire support coordination roles up and down the chain of command as necessary.

Commanded up to 70 Marines and Sailors in the roles of 81mm Platoon Commander and Combined Anti-Armor Platoon Commander at different times during first tenure at Weapons Company. Maneuvered and employed all assets available to the Weapons Company, including 81mm mortar systems, .50 cal. heavy machineguns, 40mm automatic grenade launchers, medium machineguns, Javelin and TOW missiles, and light weapons in mounted and dismounted operations. Planned and briefed platoon and company training operations. Officer in Charge for missile, machinegun, and mortar live fire ranges aboard no fewer than nine military installations in eight states and two countries.

Completed Officer Candidate School, the Basic Officer Course, and the Infantry Officer Course; previously completed Platoon Leaders Class (Law) in summer 2007.

I identified and secured opportunities for patent, trademark, and copyright protection. I protected client intellectual property in proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. I also assisted clients with intellectual property diligence and licensing.

I addressed client intellectual property needs by providing patent procurement and opinion services.

I prepared and prosecuted patent applications to protect client inventions in the US and abroad.
