My background is in corporate social responsibility, grantmaking, and nonprofit leadership. Today, I provide consultative guidance in strategic communications working primarily with social justice nonprofits; and I consult with nonprofits on Board Development. I am an experienced facilitator, public speaker, and host with past appearances on MSNBC, the El Rey Network, and numerous national conferences. In response to the negative rhetoric about the Latino community in public discourse, I created Tamarindo Podcast with a mission to tell the true narratives of Latinos in the US, teaming up with fantastic co-hosts over the years. Oprah magazine recognized Tamarindo Podcast as a leading podcast to learn about race in America. More than a podcast, Tamarindo also hosts in-person events and leadership retreats aligned with our mission of uplifting the Latino community. I've lectured at Cal State Fullerton in the Chicana/o Studies Department, and previously taught American Government. Plus, I am a fitness enthusiast certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine for Personal Training. I teach a low-cost fitness class in my community.
