For a number of years, I held a full time position as lead editor for Loosehorse - one of Ireland’s leading independent production companies. I worked on a wide variety of programming, spanning genres such as observational documentary, sport, history, live-studio and factual entertainment. Before specialising in editing, I amassed a slew of credits in different roles including; Assistant Producer, Researcher and Archivist. Previously I worked in communications, utilising my wide skillset to produce a large array of content to effectively disperse an organisation’s message - this includes video, digital graphics, layout design and copy. I have also worked as a freelance journalist - having articles published in the Irish Times news, business and data sections as well as regional newspapers in my native Cork. I hold a first-class honours degree in Journalism and New Media from the University of Limerick.

I have edited broadcast projects for all of Ireland’s three major television networks; RTE, Virgin Media and TG4. Credits include Crash Scene Investigates eps 1-4 (Virgin Media 4 x 45’), Reabhloid GAA (TG4 1 x 50’) and EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards show inserts for 2019, 2020 and 2021. I have also edited many corporate projects for high profile clients including the GAA, EY and Trinity College Dublin. In conjunction with editing, I have also managed many different projects through their post production phase. This has involved liaising with producers, directors and post houses to ensure that the best workflow is instated on a project by project basis.

In my time at Loosehorse, I have assisted dozens of projects including The Man Who Wanted To Fly (Torc Award for best feature documentary at Celtic Media Festival) amongst many others. Tasks carried out include ingest and project management, creating selects sequences, assembling rough cuts, creating multicams and sync maps, troubleshooting any tricky technical issues that may arise, managing edits with several editors in remote locations, delivering into online and audio mix environments as well as conforms. Primarily working in an Avid Media Composer environment, I also have experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, Final Cut 7 and X, as well as DaVinci Resolve. I’ve also worked on the production side as a researcher on many projects, this includes writing research briefs and pitch documents, contributing ideas, organising shoots, fact-checking and assisting in casting.
