I assisted the Operations team in all matters related to planning, booking and managing the transportation of guides across Europe and North Africa. I was often in charge of finding the best travel solutions taking into account price, profit margins, and timing. In addition to my Logistics position, I was a Sales Specialist where I brought in clients for the company, assisted them in booking trips, and subsequently guided the trips to destinations all over Europe.

Under the supervision of Dr. Christophe Darnault, I designed and performed a set of experiments in the field of Enhanced Oil Recovery. Building off the cutting edge research in the Petroleum Industry to better enhance the efficiency of crude oil extraction in wells, we tested physo-chemical effects on the oil-water interface using a combination of nanoparticles and surfactants. My research was then presented by Dr. Darnault to the American GeoPhysical Union's Fall 2014 Conference in San Francisco.

Bristol, Va

While at Alpha Natural Resources, I compiled greenhouse gas emissions data from their numerous deep coal mines throughout the Appalachian Mountains. Under the guidance of Matthew McClure, I calculated GHG emissions from MSHA air quality data for all the company's mines. This data was subsequently used for the company's Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report and to determine what mines would need EPA Title V permitting.

Suitland, Md

I assisted Dr. Carole Baldwin and graduate student Ben Frable in the study and classification of new fish species. The research included compiling old research, X-raying fish specimens, and comparing the anatomy of different fish specimens. I am a co-author of the paper describing one new species of Lizardfish and resurrecting another in NOAA's Fishery Bulletin (http://fishbull.noaa.gov/1112/frable.pdf).
