Capsos Medical was founded in 2013 with the goal of manufacturing a Class III Medical Device that can penetrate Chronic Total Occlusions (CTOs) using a revolutionary new mechanical approach. The device is patented, at design-freeze and currently awaiting regulatory approval. The company is now planning human testing and seeking an additional round of fundraising.Brendan founded the company and attracted €2.2m in funding to bring the company to its current position. Brendan oversaw the sale of Brivant Ltd. to Lake Region in 2009 and was appointed Plant Manager of the Galway division of Lake Region Medical, which employed 120 people. Oversaw the financial aspects of the acquisition of Biocompatibles as CFO & supervised the successful implementation of a new ERP system to comply with Abbott’s global structure.

Appointed Finance Director for the Cardiovascular Division of the newly established Irish division of the UK PLC. The division was built from scratch to over 150 employees and the division was sold to Abbott Laboratories in 2001 for £180m.

The Company was a UK conglomerate with several high quality branded divisions. From 1993 to 1996 Brendan was Financial Controller of Dunlop Beaufort, a company that manufactured air & sea life saving equipment. Brendan was promoted into this position from BTR Vitaline, another division of BTR that manufactured GRP pipes and tanks for the chemical industry.
