Hello, my name is Brendan Mohan, and I am a Northeast Ohio native and a first-gen graduate from the University of Akron School of Law.I take involvement within the legal community seriously. I often volunteer my time and give back to the community in which I was raised. I enjoy mentoring younger students, volunteering at local businesses and food banks, and participating in Akron Law Cares every year.Currently, I serve as the 6th Circuit Representative and the Immediate Past Student Chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Law Student Division Board. I also sit on the 2024 Membership Committee, and am a Student Liaison for the Federal Bar Association’s Judicial Division and the Labor and Employment Section.I’m a former member of Akron’s Trial Team and former student-coach for Akron Law Honors Moot Court. I served as a Production Editor for Akron Law Review. I enjoy writing, and have won several national writing competitions and have both published and forthcoming scholarship.I am currently working at Goodyear as the 2024-25 Goodyear Legal Fellow in its Headquarter Offices in Akron, Ohio.I previously worked as a Summer Associate at Brennan Manna & Diamond (BMD) within their healthcare and labor and employment practice groups.During my first summer in law school, I clerked for The Goldberg Law Firm in Cleveland, Ohio, with a focus on Criminal Defense, where I drafted numerous legal motions, prepared discovery and trial documents, researched legal arguments and issues, drafted arguments for trials, and attended federal and state trials on the firm’s trial team. The following year, I clerked for the City of Beachwood where I worked on a myriad of legal issues including municipality law, zoning law, constitutional law, and criminal law.My previous experiences range from being the first undergraduate legal intern for the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, Externing for Judge Nugent of the Northern District of Ohio, to working as a law clerk at the Law Office of Tim Thomas in Ravenna, Ohio.
