Project ManagerOrigin Energy - Project Management Feb 2004 - Dec 2004Return to Sender project 2004In this role I was responsible for a project involving the effective analysis of the volume & cost of non-delivered mail across all business units. Results: The problems and causes were identified. I prepared and presented a proposal and the business case including the solutions to resolve the problem. The proposal was approved without any amendments and included in the 2004 - 2005 programme of work (IT). Once fully implemented, the IT changes were expected to realise up to $5 million in potentially un recovered revenue. As a remedial step, I formed a dedicated work team of four staff who took ownership of all, non-delivered mail. In addition to collating statistics this team found customers who had changed address, updated the billing database and on forwarded (unpaid) invoices.After three months the work team identified (over) 9,000 missing customers and recovered $1.3 million.

Project Manager - Strategic SourcingAnz Banking Group Ltd Apr 2001 - Nov 2002Responsible for investigating, cost feasibility analysis, preparing recommendations, and implementation of various projects and improvements to meet world “best practice” and cost reduction targets. The projects involved negotiating and arranging schedules, priorities and deliverables with internal business units, contractors, suppliers, internal and external clients (Price Waterhouse Coopers, Australia Post, Go Mail). As part of the “Postage” project team I focussed on CBD mail, Return to Sender mail, National courier delivery, Checkbook rationalisation and re sizing.Results: The project realised $550,000 in the first year. My initiative to reconcile the postage contracts versus actual charges recovered a further $96,000.
