Results: The problems and causes were identified. I prepared and presented a proposal and the business case including the solutions to resolve the problem. The proposal was approved without any amendments and included in the 2004 - 2005 programme of work (IT). Once fully implemented, the IT changes were expected to realise up to $5 million in potentially un recovered revenue. As a remedial step, I formed a dedicated work team of four staff who took ownership of all, non-delivered mail. In addition to collating statistics this team found customers who had changed address, updated the billing database and on forwarded (unpaid) invoices.After three months the work team identified (over) 9,000 missing customers and recovered $1.3 million.
