brendan@obrafamily.orgI am a seasoned developer, and have been privileged to work in a diverse range of problem domains, from newspaper prepress software, to blood bank software, to a variety of application, SAN and network management products. I've also worked in payment card systems, and have more recently worked on automation, scalability and product development for Comcast. In my current role of Principal Engineer at Comcast, I work with a great group that values engineering as a means to an end, and have participated in bringing many products to market (as well as providing ongoing operational support of projects in my portfolio, aka "DevOps"). I also contribute significantly as a mentor and provide consultation to less experienced developers.Most recently, I have worked on Comcast' Entertainment OS offering, where I work on a team that develops on-device middleware for streaming hardware, in Rust. This project allows me to be involved in many subdomains, including embedded (ARM) development, firmware, CI and also cloud side components for observability, developer productivity and QA automation. Rust is awesome.I am an agile practitioner, and prefer to work in languages and frameworks that smoothly support TDD.
