After MSE was purchased by Moneysupermarket in September 2012, it became my responsibility to ensure that the transition from a privately held company to being part of a corporate entity was a smooth one.During this time, I had to ensure smooth handover of Operational responsibilities in all areas, with particular attention to Web Servers, internal IT networks, HR, Accounting, Purchasing, Office Management and security. I managed the TUPE process on the MSE side and negotiated the final benefits package for MSE staff. The process went very satisfactorily and all staff were retained during the transition.After 10 years of service helping to build MoneySavingExpert.com in to the UK's biggest personal finance website, it's time for me to move on. I'm taking my family back home to Australia and a new adventure.

I joined Martin in November 2003 to help grow and manage a small but burgeoning website of enthusiastic MoneySavers. Back then we had 30000 on the mailing list. By the end of 2012, it had grown to over 8 million subscribers and the website had monthly traffic of 13 million unique visitors.In the early days I had responsibility for everything that was not Editorial or Accounts Receivable. My responsibilities covered: Web Design/Development, Web Hosting, Email marketing, Commercial, Office Management, Recruiting, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Staff Management and Development, Community Management, Abuse/Legal issues et al. As MSE grew and consequentially the requirements for each department, I needed to recruit and develop our staff to fill those more senior roles. I'm proud to say that all of those early staff members still hold senior positions within the company.With those responsibilities filled, I became more focused on the Operations side of the company, specialising on the technical side (increasing web server requirements, mailing systems for multi-million per week sends) and protecting MSE and the users of our online community, both from virtual and legal threats. These included weathering a determined DDoS attack on the site, defending against continual hacking attempts and dealing with multiple legal challenges from companies trying to stop our users voicing their genuine negative experiences. Throughout, I developed and maintained strong relationships with both internal and external legal teams, the Metropolitan Police Central e-crime Unit (PCeU) and most major ISPs dealing with large emailing requirements.By the time purchase of the company was completed in September 2012, we had grown to 43 staff and MSE was turning over in excess of £15m

Multiple roles over the 9+ years working at Melbourne Research Laboratories – Metallography, Steel Casting and Rolling, Electron Microscopy, Tensile and Non-Destructive Testing, amongst others. Ran the Hot Torsion Laboratory before moving to the IT Department for a two year tenure.
