Reporting to the CEO, I established and scaled the Commercial function, and then assumed primary responsibility for Vaultex’s Commercial Strategy, Product Management, Large Corporate and Financial Institution Sales, and Bank of England / UK Treasury relationship management.

Key member of the European Executive Committee that managed the integration of the Citibank & Alliance and Leicester merchant service business acquisitions into Elavon. Reporting to the CEO, I established and scaled the Product Management function, and then assumed end-to-end product lifecycle management of the Core Acquiring, Point of Sale and Value Added Services product portfolios in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Poland and Germany.

Experienced a progressive and accelerated career path in Barclays / Barclaycard. I started on a branch-based ‘A’-level entrant accelerated training programme, which I successfully completed in 2 years, before going to university to study Business. Upon graduation I joined the Bank’s graduate Management Development Programme, which I successfully completed a year early. From 1997 to 1999 I worked in Barclays Treasury Products, successfully making the product set EMU-compliant and developing a European product strategy. In June 1999 I took over Product Management responsibility for Business Banking’s £10m revenue Insurance Services product set, negotiating a market-leading commercial deal with Marsh for General Insurance, and managing the successful implementation of a dedicated Life and Pensions salesforce into Business Banking. Promoted to Senior Executive at 31, I became Product Director, Debt and Risk Protection Products with full product management responsibility for Business Banking’s Loan, Commercial Mortgage, Overdraft, FX and Insurance product portfolios. I transitioned into Barclaycard Business in 2004 as Head of UK Merchant Acquiring, with full product management, pricing and scheme management responsibility for a £200m revenue UK business. Whilst at Barclaycard Business I was appointed onto the boards of Switch (UK debit card scheme) and the UK Mastercard Members Forum.

1 year industrial placement as part of degree. My dissertation on image-based cheque truncation was published by BIFU.
