We bought this property in 2015 after searching the South Coast of NSW for the previous 18 months. The original idea, which is still current, was to have a place less than 2 hours from Sydney to escape to with our children whilst they were young to create memories and enjoyable times now.The house had good bones and the views were to die for. We quickly renovated and updated the internals so it was the package deal. People started renting it for weekends and holidays and then we discovered by accident that we had purchased a property that was already DA approved for weddings every year. During the 2016, we started to get very busy with holiday accommodation as word of mouth spread about Seacliff House and the wonderful space and views available.In late 2016, we had the first wedding bookings. There's a farm shed and we envisaged turning the shed into a permanent marquee and put in another DA to do this. During the DA process for the shed, which took about 6 months, wedding bookings for 2017 started. In January I thought that we should start an Instagram profile on Seacliff House to get ready for weddings in 2018. Little did we know, that the weddings of early 2017, and subsequent posts on Insta, would propel the word of mouth about Seacliff House much quicker than anticipated. We are now taking wedding bookings 18 months in advance as most of the wedding season has already been booked out.The next stage is to renovate the shed and turn it into a blank canvas for weddings and mid-week retreats.
