As a connector, I excel in building meaningful relationships with clients, strategic partners, and governments around the world and provide value beyond banking to help clients with their international strategy. Passionate in serving the innovation economy, as a member of the executive team at Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), I played an integral role in developing the innovation economy in the UK. By cultivating the government and partnership relationships necessary to establish/expand SVB’s footprint in the UK, I helped set the stage for success with London becoming the third largest market in the world for technology startups and home to 258 future unicorns. Following this success, I was called on to facilitate SVB’s entry into China resulting in the successful launch of a JV-owned Shanghai-based bank, SPD Silicon Valley Bank. Earlier, I oversaw the global credit products and global credit service businesses, leading SVB to gain award-winning status as Bank of the Year by Export Import Bank. Over the past decade, I expanded SVB’s global trade finance business, transforming to achieve year after year growth. Earlier in my career, I was at HSBC, where as a lender, gained deep expertise in global lending, completing HSBC’s Foreign Exchange (FX) and Trade Structuring training in Hong Kong.SELECT ACHIEVEMENTS: • Transformed a trade finance business that had plateaued. Tripled growth while achieving rank as a 25th top standby letter of credit issuer out of 600 banks. • Integral role in developing the innovation economy in the UK and expanding SVB’s footprint in China. • Doubled SVB’s global Credit Service business in a matter of years. • Doubled SVB’s International Working Capital product portfolio by revamping team, credit services, and structure to better support Export Import Bank’s international financing Working Capital product.• This work led to earning Export Import Bank’s Bank of the Year award. • Maintained highest employee engagement (over 90%) company-wide year after year.
