The California Invention Convention is an initiative to bring invention education into California schools and to celebrate the young inventors with a statewide event. We provide a curriculum for students in grades K-12 that utilizes the engineering cycle to identify a problem in their lives, or that of their family, and invent a solution to the problem. Teachers hold an Invention Convention at their sites with their students. The curriculum fills STEM, Common Core and NGSS criteria. The winners of the local events will continue onto a regional, state and national convention, through science fairs, and judged events. Statewide competition feeds into Invention Convention Worldwide, which is held, annually, at The Henry Ford in Dearborn MI. Lemelson MIT is now the affiliate for the California Invention Convention.
