Working as a backend Developer I build and deploy custom servers to run web applications, design and deploy the PostgreSQL databases to store their data, and integrate headless CMSs to allow content creators to quickly and easily update site content.Along with programming and other technical skills, communication has been a large part of the job as I work closely with the frontend developers on our team to bring the various pieces of an application together.

Working as a freelancer I have translated thousands of documents ranging from social media posts to mining contracts.In this setting I have developed the flexibility to adapt to the differing needs of clients, fluctuating deadlines, and distinct translation requirements. This is important to maintaining working relationships with clients and to ensure that the quality of work meets their expectations. Client satisfaction is of the utmost importance.

Working for WordReference for over six years, I have written, edited, proofread, and translated thousands of entries for the online dictionary. The WordReference dictionary is unique because it’s aimed at language learners and includes definitions, grammar, synonyms, antonyms, collocations, translations, and written examples. A dictionary’s main objective is to convey information about a language, so an extensive understanding of English is necessary.

Working as a paralegal, I performed both translation and interpretation, as well as a first contact with Spanish speaking clients. While there, I translated hundreds of documents (contracts, legal documents, civil documents, legal memorandums, client affidavits, government forms, questionnaires, client attorney agreements, etc), interpreted at attorney-client meetings, conducted client interviews with Spanish-speaking clients and wrote their affidavits for court or immigration applications, and prepped Spanish-speaking clients for court and Immigration interviews. Professionalism and accuracy were of the utmost importance in a setting where even minor errors could potentially have drastic negative consequences. Timely completion of work was also a constant concern as court dates were non-negotiable. During this employment I had the opportunity to improve my accuracy dramatically while still maintaining a high level of efficiency which was necessary to meet important deadlines.

Working as a head bilingual instructor at SparkPark, I created the curriculum for new bilingual art program for children from pre-k to high school. I also coordinated and taught hundreds of English and Spanish courses in ceramics, woodworking, and printmaking. The students in my program ranged from beginners to advanced speakers. During my time at SparkPark the bilingual program that I helped create won the Best of Philly award for best children's classes.In this fast paced setting I developed my multi-tasking skills as I dealt with a variety of tasks that would arise throughout the sessions.
