Vtesse is a major fibre provider within the UK for providing be-spoke connections to major organisations within in the UK. As of recently Vtesse is one of few providers that has tapped into a niche market to provide broadband to rural locations within the UK (the final third).My role with in Vtesse is in the Network Operations Centre (NOC). This is providing support to Vtesse's customers, liaising between different departments within Vtesse and managing resources for troubleshooting of the network during faults.Key equipment and services that I have gained experience of from working within Vtesse: DWDM equipment, SDH equipment, switches, routers, ISDN and as of recently due to an introduction of new services: IP transit, EtherX, EAPS, BGP, and Broadband up to the DSLAM.

Hatfield

This is was a temporary role at the University of Hertfordshire. I was involved in two roles. One was an assistant helper for the summer CCNA summer school, where my role was to assist the main lecturer to help students pass their CCNA 1 and CCNA 2 course.My second role was as a computer support technician. I had a major involvement in the refurbishment of state of the art ICT labs ready for the Students return in September. Among this, I was also involved in fault fixing lecturer computers as well as installation of software onto lecturer computers.

I was a placement student of a sandwich year. This role was orgainisation, planning and setting up a network infrastructure of new Cummins sites within: Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
