Aircraft Fuel Systems Technician• Performs inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of fuel systems components, integral fuel tanks, and fuel cells in accordance with technical orders, schematics, drawings, and diagrams on 28 assigned KC-135 aircraft.• Performs aircraft launch, recovery, towing and jacking operation as needed.• Aids in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and overhaul of various aircraft systems to include hydraulics, electrical, avionics, environmental, propulsion, landing gear and flight control systems.• Determines scope and complexity of repairs by consulting applicable technical data and instructions.• Coordinates with engineers in validating critical aircraft one-time inspections and Implemented fuel system modifications on all assigned aircraft.• Enforces safety standards and technical data procedures during all aspects of maintenance to include confined space entry and extraction.• Performs maintenance scheduling, inspection tracking, coordination of outside support and other various functions.• Utilizes various maintenance information systems (MIS) to document aircraft maintenance, track aircraft history, maintenance, engine data, and time change items.• Conducts quality review of aircraft parts, initiated Action Requests (ARs) and coordinated with engineers for product improvement.• Utilizes proven technical expertise to investigate malfunctions and premature failures, identifies the root cause, and developed and recommended long-term preventative measures that increase safety awareness.• Performs aircraft fueling and defueling operations.
