Profile bio

About Brendon Seale

Yes, it's true. I used to be a paleontologist. And from there I delved deep into the very different world of high-tech chemical analysis: mass spectrometry. Specializing in bioanalytical samples, my diverse interests and experience have led me to work on and analyze the smallest compounds to some of the largest each time using novel and innovative techniques in sample preparation, gas-phase separation and mass spectrometry. I have turned my attention to proteomics, one of the more complex fields in protein biology. Here I utilize cutting edge technology to interrogate the smallest samples and discover the hidden proteins within.Look, no method is flawless. There are improvements to be made everywhere, whether that's scientifically or logistically I love to find them. And I love to implement them. If you are looking for a qualified scientist that won't shy away from even the most varied of tasks, you've found one!Scientific Skills:- Mass spectrometry coupled to liquid & gas chromatography- Ion mobility, specifically differential mobility spectrometry and analysis- Instrumental analysis using techniques like UV/Vis, Fluorescence, atomic emission and others- Microfluidics and microfabrication- Computational chemistry, for the modelling of small to medium size ions in the gas phase- Sample preparation for proteins, peptides, small molecule drugs, pesticides and more- Quality control and assurance- Extensive background knowledge in the fields of bioanalytical chemistry, forensic science, biology (molecular & organismal)

Listed skills include Chemistry, Mass Spectrometry, Analytical Chemistry, Spectroscopy, and 34 others.
