In August 2021 I became a Registered Behavior Technician at Kyo Autism Therapy, working with families of children with Autism to increase a variety of life skills and replace maladaptive behaviors with appropriate ones using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy.In December 2021 I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a focus in Criminal Psychology, from Liberty University. At Kyo I earned the roles of New Hire Mentor, long-term Behavior Therapist Mentor, and a promotion to Senior Behavior Technician. My job as the New Hire Mentor was to guide incoming behavior therapists through the extensive training process to ensure successful integration into the company. As a long-term BT Mentor I provided ongoing support to my BTs by leading clinical discussions, planning activities to increase team engagement, and being consistent in communication. My promotion to Senior Behavior Technician was given after I had at least one year of experience in the implementation of ABA therapy.In November of 2024 I accepted a full-time Registered Behavior Technician position at Action Behavior Centers. I now work in-center with children ages two to eight years old, all of whom have been diagnosed with Autism. I continue to grow in my role at ABC by being consistent in therapy and dedicated to creating an honest and supportive atmosphere with all team members.
