I will work with the Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Start Something Program as a communications employee to help promote and market the program across all social media sites. I have the role of managing the social media sites, creating content related to current events and stories within the program, as well as updating the website. I will also post content on an established schedule to keep the sites relevant and up to date. Additionally, I will attend events held by the Start Something CALS program to report back to our team and create updates for the social media sites over those events. We meet as a team weekly to keep each other informed on the projects we are currently working on, as well as to discuss what upcoming projects we will have and who they will be assigned to.

I greet customers with a friendly smile and take their orders, either at the front register or the drive-through. I open and close the store, following duties and tasks assigned to my position that day. I make food and beverages to the company's standards and serve them to customers. I clean dishes, tables, counters, etc. by following a set list of daily cleaning instructions, as well as complete a weekly cleaning task. I put away orders brought to the shop, follow food expiration protocols, and maintain a tidy workspace. I treat appliances with care and make an effort to maintain a positive relationship with all of my co-workers, managers, and bosses.

I have worked at Aztec Parlor since my junior year in high school as a summer employee, as well as helping out over seasonal breaks in college. I am employed as a barista which has brought me so many opportunities to network with customers and grow in my customer service skills. I easily adapted to the fast-paced environment and fell into a comfortable rhythm soon after starting my employment. Occasionally, I have had the opportunity to help with the social media advertising done by the company. I also have taken professional photos for the company to use on their social media sites to market their menu and any additional specialty items.

I was raised on a livestock and crop farm, and I grew up as it expanded into the successful operation it is today. We raise beef cattle, sheep, pigs, meat and dairy goats, as well as grow and harvest various crops. My main role is to take care of the sheep and goats throughout their lambing/kidding season, as well as the heifers calving in the spring. I have shown our home raised beef cattle, sheep, and meat goats for many years through the county 4-H and I easily grew a passion for the industry. In my eagerness to share the world of agriculture with others, I established an Instagram page for my family's farm where I have posted insight to farm life, as well as done some marketing for our competitive livestock operations.

One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is establishing my very own photography business. It started out by Santa bringing me a camera for Christmas, I know I will remember that day forever. The following year I sparked my interest in photography by taking all of my sister's high school senior photos. Since then, I have expanded to family photos, livestock photography, product advertising, wedding video editing, and so much more. My editing skills have increased drastically over the years, and I have adjusted my editing style many times. I love the room for creativity photography has to offer, but most of all I love capturing meaningful memories for others to cherish forever.

I assisted with fair preparations, youth 4-H camps, social media promotions, photography at livestock shows, numerous activities during fair week, as well as preparations for the upcoming 4-H year. I endured long and grueling days of constant work on the go. I covered the office and answered any questions visitors might have on various topics such as insects, hay bail prices, 4-H activities and more.
